About Us

Hello!

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Natalie Zatoka, and I’m happy to be your pastry chef. I’d love to share a bit about myself and my family so we can get to know each other better. My family and I are from Ukraine. The war that began in 2022 changed our lives completely. In September 2023, we moved to the United States to start from scratch.

Strength behind

Former life

I’m a self-taught pastry chef. My journey began unexpectedly - in 2020, two years after my daughter was born, I decided to bake her a carrot cake for her birthday. It turned out incredibly delicious, and that moment sparked my passion for baking. I became fascinated with this process, studied a lot of different information, tried recipes and found my own style and direction in this area. Over time, I started taking custom orders. It was a hobby and a joy for me, as my main focus was raising my daughter. I never actively promoted myself as a pastry chef - everything grew naturally. Then the war began, and everything changed. My daughter and I moved to Germany, where we lived for 15 months. Eventually, we returned to Ukraine, hoping for peace. Sadly, just three days after our return, there was a missile strike that hit a residential building only 700 meters from our home.

We were lucky - but others were not. The situation only worsened, almost every night we hid in a shelter, slept poorly and did not live a normal life like all Ukrainians. That terrifying experience pushed us to make the decision to move to the United States. Before the war, we owned a small business in Ukraine. We worked with schools and offered portrait and themed photo shoots, created graduation albums, and photographed school events. I was the art director, responsible for designing photo zones and retouching images. Creativity has always been part of who I am - even as a teenager, I loved to sew, knit, weave, and make jewelry. We truly enjoyed our work, even though running a business is never easy. It gave us everything we needed, and one of the greatest blessings it brought us was the ability to travel during the summer. Those travels brought joy, inspiration, and unforgettable memories that we still carry with us.

New chapter

When we moved to Washington State, it felt like a gift from fate. The nature here is absolutely stunning - mountains, rivers, lakes, the ocean, countless trails, camping, kayaking, and so much more. We live in Trout Lake and have completely fallen in love with this place, surrounded by beauty and a warm, welcoming community. I decided to continue my journey as a pastry chef here in the U.S. and do what I love. My cakes are different from traditional American ones, and I’ve been met with so much support and appreciation - that gave me the strength and confidence to keep going. With the help of my loving husband, this website was created - not just a website, but a real cake shop, where everything is clear and simple. Here, you can easily order a cake for any occasion. We wanted to make the process convenient and enjoyable for you - and we truly hope we succeeded.
